We are taught early and often to shrink ourselves. For so many of us obtaining the "ideal" body becomes an obsession. Nothing is ever good enough. Weight loss advertising preys on this culturally imposed insecurity and I CAN'T stomach it any longer. That's why I aim to do things differently.

Body positivity and a desire for change are not mutually exclusive. Healthy desires to change are motivated by self-love — wanting more energy, wanting to heal physical ailments, or simply wanting to live a healthier lifestyle. When the urge to change comes from a place of sharp self-criticism — my red flags go up. I understand that the struggle with self-image and self-acceptance is no joke. That's why my integrative approach to weight loss is designed to silence the self-critic, support your strength, and give you the leg up over all the weight loss mumbo jumbo pedaled by a multi-billion dollar industry of self sabotage. 

If you too are tired of the pills, gimmicks, and glossy quick fixes, this integrative approach is for you. If you feel like you have been "doing everything right" but still haven't seen a change, this is an approach for you. When we strip away the gimmicks, we are often left with the impression that weight loss is about diet and exercise - but this is only partially true. Hormones, attitudes, behaviors, beliefs, and misinformation complicate matters.

The idea that you are “doing everything right” comes from the idea that there is a right way for all people to do things. How often is that one size fits all approach right? 

Paleo, keto, vegan, gluten free, Weight Watchers, intermittent fasting - there is no superior diet plan even if your friends, family, or latest health guru tries to convince you otherwise. Same goes for exercise - that Instagram yogi or Crossfit coworker might be well intentioned but they are misinformed about YOU. All these approaches can work powerfully for some and fail hard, fast, and miserably for others.

You need to find what works for you - but how do you do that in a sea of information telling you to swim in every direction? What is required is an entirely different approach. It involves YOU abandoning what you think is right, and what you've been told is right. Instead it relies on YOU becoming a metabolic detective. It involves forgetting about that one-size-fits-all approach, and demands that you write your own. 

My role is to help you break free of the dogma around weight loss and partner with you in determining your metabolism "must haves", hormonal hurdles, and personal sustainable strategies.
