I work with you to complement the care you get from your obstetrician or midwife, offering natural solutions to the most common pregnancy ailments.  Acupuncture and naturopathic medicine offer many safe, effective solutions for pregnancy related issues such as morning sickness, fatigue, constipation, anxiety, back pain, heart burn, headaches, and pregnancy induced hypertension. I am here to provide you with extra support through each trimester.

Acupuncture & Naturopathic Medicine Support By Trimester

1st Trimester

This is a crucial trimester and can be a very exciting time with lots of changes. During this time women experience pronounced fatigue, smell and taste changes, digestive changes, increased urination, headaches, and morning sickness which may last all day.

Naturopathic medicine and acupuncture in the first trimester can help reduce and regulate the above symptoms and promote a viable pregnancy. This is an important time period for extra care for women who have spotting, or have suffered previous miscarriages.

2nd Trimester

During this trimester you may start to feel and look more pregnant, but you are more likely feeling stronger, happier, and healthier.

Naturopathic medicine and acupuncture are used during this trimester to assist with lingering nausea and fatigue, sinus issues, cold and flu symptoms, heartburn, gestational diabetes, high blood pressure, leg cramps, and back pain.

3rd Trimester

In the third trimester your baby is rapidly gaining weight and you may begin to feel uncomfortable and tired. Naturopathic medicine and acupuncture can get you through this final stretch! Acupuncture can help ease symptoms of pain, swelling, and fatigue. Around 33-34 weeks is the ideal time to start utilizing acupuncture to treat breech position of your baby, and around 36 weeks it is a good time to begin to prepare your body for labor.

Postpartum: The 4th Trimester

I utilize safe treatments for nursing mothers, and provide gentle solutions for the most common complaints of new moms, including fatigue, painful breasts, poor milk supply, postpartum mood changes (anxiety, depression, OCD), constipation, hemorrhoids, and back pain.

I look carefully to detect the underlying cause of postpartum health conditions, including screening for iron deficiency/anemia, postpartum thyroiditis, nutrient deficiencies and more. I'm here to discuss your concerns and frustrations in a non-judgmental manner.
